About

My Skating Journey

Hello and Welcome! My name is Rebecca and I am a professional figure skater from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

I started skating at the age of 9 after watching the 2014 Olympics on TV. Once I was enrolled in my local learn to skate program, the rest is history.

I have tried many different paths throughout my skating career. I started out competing in freestyle as well as synchronized skating. Toward the end of my freestyle skating career I competed solo dance and even placed 5th at Nationals. That is when I made the switch to partnered dance. I competed in that for about 2 years and now I’ve moved onto professional show skating. Sounds like a lot when it is crammed into one tiny paragraph…

XOXO,

Rebecca

Skating USA

One day I thought of this crazy idea… what if I skate at every ice rink in America?! Yeah I know what you are thinking, “Rebecca you are absolutely crazy!” And to that I would say, I think you are right! So regardless I have started the journey to skate at every ice rink in America (which is over 1200 by the way) and I plan to document my entire journey through social media! I will have more information coming soon about this journey and I hope you will be along for the ride!

About This Website

My social media journey began on Instagram. I started casually sharing my skating posts and next thing you know here we are 50K+ followers later and Skate For Gold is no longer the small casual skating page it started out to be. Along the way I fell in love with sharing my skating journey with all of you! The highs and lows, the success and the fails, and everything in between! I created this website as a way to not only share my love and passion for figure skating but to expand the figure skating community. Through this platform I have high hopes of sharing figure skating knowledge in all forms, inspiring stories, fun figure skating games, useful resources, and so much more! This website is always growing and evolving and I am always open to hearing your thoughts, feedback, or constructive criticism.
